Biography
Clinton Merrick Hurdle (born July 30, 1957, in Big Rapids, Michigan) is the current manager for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He is also a former outfielder in Major League Baseball and the former manager of the National League's Colorado Rockies of Major League Baseball, having held that position from April 26, 2002, to May 29, 2009. Since his release, Hurdle was offered a "significant role" within the Rockies organization[1] but joined MLB Network as a studio analyst for the remainder of 2009. During the 2009 off-season Hurdle was hired as hitting coach for the Texas Rangers. On November 14th, 2010 he was hired to become manager of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
